Juniper Gardens

Real Wedding: Non-traditional wedding

This non-traditional wedding highlight of Autumn and Kyle’s wedding holds an extra special place in our hearts because they were the very first couple to book our new venue, Juniper Gardens, and the first to host their wedding. They were so supportive of the construction process and took a chance on our little outdoor garden venue and hosted this incredible non-traditional wedding.

If you are looking for inspiration for a non-traditional wedding that is full of beautiful details and so much joy, this one is it!

Non-traditional Wedding couple

All that I know
Is you caught me at the right time
Keep me in your glow
‘Cause I’m havin’ such a good time with you

Baby, don’t you know
That you’re my golden hour
The color of my sky
You set my world on fire

Kacey Musgraves “Golden Hour”

Golden Hour was the couple’s wedding song and it was so fitting for their non-traditional wedding vibe.

Ideas we loved from this wedding:

  • Guests arrived to cocktail hour and charcuterie
  • Autumn & Kyle had a private dinner together after the ceremony
  • The non-traditional Bridal jumpsuit was so fun
  • Using bright orange throughout the wedding was a fresh take
  • Locally-grown flowers used throughout – including fruits and vegetables
  • Incorporating their daughters throughout the day to celebrate the blended family
  • Choreographed disco dance for the couple’s first dance

Non-Traditional Wedding Ceremony Highlights

Kyle & Autumn both brought daughters into this relationship and were so thoughtful on including their daughters throughout the wedding. Their daughters received their own rings during the ceremony and stayed at their parent’s side throughout the ceremony. Showing that this moment was bigger than the couple but a combining of families.

Non-Traditional Wedding Reception Highlights

Autumn & Kyle’s idea to start the wedding with cocktail hour helped extend the celebration throughout the day. By the time the ceremony started, the guests were already full of laughter and ready to see the ceremony. As the ceremony ended, and the guests made their way to the pavilion to start the reception they had plenty of activities from the photobooth to cornhole. The couple even hid away for a bit to have dinner together in private to soak in the day. They celebrated well into the evening with choreographed dance numbers and an excellent selection of music from ABBA to more recent hits.
